Barrier Pipe
G W Axup & Co Ltd stock and supply barrier pipe from 25mm to 630mm. The main sizes kept in stock are 25mm, 32mm and 63mm and in coils or straight lengths.
It is used in situations where contaminates in the ground could affect the drinking water supply and standard water pipe will not work. Examples of this would be:
- Brownfield sites
- Petrol stations
- Landfill sites
- Fields that have slurry or chemicals spread on them
The pipe is manufactured with a layer of aluminium between the first and second layer of plastic to ensure that contamination is prevented. Contaminates could include chemicals, heavy metals and hydrocarbons.
Barrier pipe can be identified by the brown stripes on the outer wall of the pipe to allow it to be more easily identified for post installation checks.
